About Us

The Sathya Sai International Organisation (SSIO) is a spiritual and humanitarian organisation. It has been active for over 50 years, carrying out its mission of enabling its members and indeed any spiritual aspirant to realise the Divine Principle innate in every human being. This is achieved by fostering the spiritual practices of manifesting love in thought, word and deed, engaging in selfless service and achieving self-transformation by practising the five universal Human Values: Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Love, and Nonviolence.

The SSIO neither belongs to any religion nor does it preach any. It encompasses all religions, all faiths, and all nationalities. The inspiration for knowing the truth, living in accordance with one’s higher consciousness, and serving society is the mission of nearly 2,000 Sathya Sai Centres spread in over 120 countries worldwide. The Centres support educational, spiritual and selfless service activities for realisation of one’s own true loving nature.

Service Activities

Service Activities, including global healthcare and social services, are a very important function of the organisation. Selfless service is an important spiritual discipline for the realisation of the divine principle, latent in every being. Selfless service should become a way of life, as it facilitates the blossoming of the ability to communicate and relate from heart to heart. It is love in action, love for the planet and, in particular, love for human beings. It consists of taking care of the physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being of the needy, without any consideration for reward or intention of proselytising.

SSIO members serve hundreds of thousands of needy patients every year, at hundreds of medical camps and over 40 permanent medical clinics and mobile clinics. In addition to medical and surgical services, dental, vision, blood and bone marrow donor registration drives and health education programmes are also conducted. SSIO volunteers offer humanitarian relief to victims of natural disasters around the world, on an as-needed basis.

The organisation provides food, clothes, supplies and shelter to the needy, as well as loving care for the environment and animals, on a sustained basis, globally. Many types of community service projects, such as feeding the hungry, serving needy children, and caring for animals are held worldwide on October 20th each year under the Serve the Planet programme, led by the Youth of the Organisation.

Educational Activities

Educational activities include the teaching and practice of the five universal Human Values: Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Love, and Nonviolence through classes for children and parents and training seminars for teachers. Many administrators have examined the Sathya Sai Education in Human Values, known as SSEHV, and adopted it in their schools. SSEHV is non-denominational and compatible with all cultures and religious creeds. SSEHV is administered by over 30 Institutes of Sathya Sai Education, worldwide.

There are more than 40 Sathya Sai Schools spread around the world and its students strengthen the social fabric through their honesty, integrity, and moral upright character. Sathya Sai educational institutions have been recognised by local authorities for their excellence and outstanding contribution to society
